JOHN GILMOUR

ONE TO FOLLOW

Rangirangdoo made it

four on the trot when

he scored at Randwick

on Saturday. The Chris

Waller-trained gelding

just keeps stepping up

to the next level, and

on Saturday he loomed

up strongly at the 200

metres and then went

right on with the job to

win by a length. He beat

a handy fi eld, and the

manner in which he did

suggests there are more

victories in store.

ONE TO FORGIVE

Forget that Unordered

ever went around at

Randwick on Saturday.

The Kris Lees-trained

four-year-old was having

his fi rst run back from

a spell, during which

time he was gelded, and

found more trouble in

the straight than Speed

Gordon before running

second. The gelding has

always had a tendency

to be headstrong, and he

really fi red up and gave

his rider a torrid time as

he attempted to angle

him into clear running in

the straight. His next win

is just around the corner,

just as long as he settles

better in his races.

ONE TO FORGET

Kenton ran third at

Newcastle on Saturday,

but he should have

fi nished closer. He had

a nice run and hit the

front in the straight but

then looked likely to miss

a place when headed

before coming again. He

has been placed in his

past three outings, but he

will need to improve on

his effort from Saturday

before he will be able to

break through.
